By the end of 2015, 20% of newly-built buildings in urban areas will meet the requirements of green building standards. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the next step in development will focus on the building materials that are required by the green building and that have a wide range of products, and they must speed up research and formulate their green certification standards and certification methods.

To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will gradually compile and publish a catalogue of green building materials, guide the development of green building materials, and support the construction of green buildings. In addition, we must pay attention to the link between production and use, accelerate the revision of existing standards and norms that are not conducive to the promotion of green products, and adopt advanced standards. Regulate and incentivize the technological progress of green building materials, speed up industrial development and transformation and upgrading.
