Motor protection often has a certain relationship with its control method, that is, there is control in protection and protection in control. If it is controlled by a contactor or a circuit breaker, the contact of the electrical appliance should be able to withstand the start-up and breakage assessment of the starting current. 1. Current detection protection device

(1) The thermal relay uses a load current to flow through the calibrated resistive element so that the bimetal thermal element is heated and bent, thereby causing the relay contact to move before the motor winding burns out. Its operating characteristics are close to the allowable overload characteristics of the motor windings. Although the thermal relay is generally accurate in terms of operating time, it can achieve effective overload protection for the motor. With the continuous improvement and improvement of structural design, in addition to temperature compensation, it also has phase-failure protection and load imbalance protection.

(2) Motor-protected circuit breakers with thermal-magnetic trips are used for thermal overload protection. The structure and operating principle are the same as the thermal relays. The bimetal thermal element has a direct top tripping device after being bent, and some make contact. The point is turned on, causing the circuit breaker to open later. The setting value of the electromagnet is high, and it operates only when it is short-circuited. Its simple structure, small size, low price, operating characteristics in line with current standards, and reliable protection, it has been widely used a few days ago, especially small-capacity circuit breakers is particularly significant.

(3) Electronic over-current relays detect fault current signals through the internal phase current transformers and perform corresponding actions after being processed by the electronic circuit. Electronic circuits are flexible and versatile, and can fully satisfy the protection of various types of motors.
