Harvard Research Reveals Genes That Can Cause Human Coffee Addiction

The project analyzed about 24 previous studies and used more than 120,000 people as research objects. These participants described how much coffee they drank each day and received DNA scans. This new study by Harvard aims to find small differences in the relationship between DNA and coffee drink.

The researchers found eight such gene variants, two of which have been confirmed to be associated with drinking coffee.

The researchers said that four new gene variants in six genes are related to caffeine, caffeine or causing it to lyse or exert a stimulating effect.
