Buckwheat needs less fertilizer, fertilization is expensive

Buckwheat has a short growth period, rapid growth, slender stems and underdeveloped roots. It is a crop that requires relatively little fertilizer. Generally, for every 100 kilograms of buckwheat kernels produced, about 3.3 kilograms of nitrogen, 1.5 kilograms of phosphorus, and 4.3 kilograms of potassium are required to be absorbed from the soil. The specific amount of fertilizer applied will vary depending on soil texture, cultivation conditions, climate characteristics, harvest time and productivity. However, for dry and infertile land, the application of fertilizer is the basis for high yield. Buckwheat fertilization should be based on the principle of “basic fertilizer, supplemented with seed fertilizer, topdressing and compensating”, “organic fertilizer, supplemented by inorganic fertilizer” and “co-nitrogen and phosphorus”.

Skillful application of base fertilizer: base fertilizer is the basic fertilizer applied to the deep layer of soil before the sowing of buckwheat, also known as base fertilizer. Generally, 2000-3000 kg of fully degraded farmyard manure is applied per mu. The base fertilizer can be applied to the topsoil evenly before the last tillage. The skillful application of base fertilizer not only can fertilize the soil, mature the soil layer, create high-yield conditions, but also effectively promote root growth and development, and improve root absorption. At the same time, it can utilize the characteristics of organic fertilizer "full fat" and "stable strength" to achieve balanced fertilization during the growth period and ensure stable growth.

Skillful application of topdressing: Topdressing is a rapid fertilizer supplementation method used to compensate for the lack of base fertilizer and seed fertilizer during the growth and development of buckwheat. At different growth stages, the absorption and accumulation of nutrients are different. After the development of buds, a large number of elements are needed. At this time, the supply capacity of soil nutrients is very low, so the application of topdressing and timely supplementing a certain amount of nutrient elements to the stalks of buckwheat The growth of leaves, the differentiation and development of flower buds, and the formation of grain have important promoting effects. "Promoting bud fertilizer" generally sees 3-6 kg of urea per mu. Note: Do not apply if the growth is strong. The flowering period is the period in which the buckwheat needs the most nutrients. For the more general growth, attention should be paid to the timely supply of quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer such as urea to increase the flowering rate and seed setting rate. "Promoting flower fertilizer" generally sees 3-6 kg of urea per mu. Fertilization is best done on cloudy days or in the morning and evening. In addition, for the lack of fertility or de-fertilization in the middle and late stages, it can be applied with 1-2 times of foliar spray fertilizer. Generally, 50 kg of 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution can be sprayed evenly on the stems and leaves per acre.
