BMW recalls that some imported X-series car bolts are not tightened, posing a safety hazard

On January 6th, according to the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and will recall some imported X-series cars from January 6, 2017. According to the company's statistics, there are 65 vehicles in mainland China. details as follows:

A total of 56 imported BMW X5 vehicles for the 2015 period from June 22, 2015 to September 12, 2015;

A total of 9 imported BMW X6 vehicles were produced in the 2015 period from June 26, 2015 to July 29, 2015.

Some vehicles in this recall range may not be tightened according to the standard torque due to the grounding wire position between the DME (vehicle engine electronic control unit) and the engine block. During the use of the vehicle, the bolt may loosen due to bumps, causing DME voltage. Lowering results in a power outage or restart. If a fault occurs during the running of the vehicle, the engine will be turned off or restarted after the flame is turned off due to power failure or restart of the DME. This situation increases the possibility of a traffic accident in the vehicle and presents a safety hazard.

BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. will inspect the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge and tighten the grounding wire bolts of the engine control unit according to the inspection results.

The engine fault light will illuminate when the fault occurs and the meter will display a fault message. Relevant users should drive carefully when they find a similar fault in the vehicle, and contact the dealer for repair as soon as possible after the recall operation begins.
