3G Application Realizes Jingmen Real-time Monitoring of Pollution Sources

On August 14th, at the first “China Telecom's High-level Forum on the Application of Hubei's Environmental Protection Information Technology”, we saw that the modern law enforcement methods for real-time monitoring of pollution sources through China Telecom’s 3G mobile phones have been formally put into use at Jingmen.

This new 3G application belongs to China Telecom's "Eco-friendly" mobile application system. The system aims at environmental protection monitoring and management features, and utilizes the advantages of China Telecom's telephony network, mobile network, and Internet convergence to provide data and video convergence application systems and mobile application systems for environmental protection departments, and to conduct pollution sources, environmental quality, nuclear radiation point sources, etc. Data transmission, video monitoring and mobile online monitoring and monitoring.

Since August of last year, Jingmen Environmental Protection Bureau and Jingmen Telecom have cooperated closely and invested more than RMB 2 million to build an all-weather environmental protection monitoring network. China Telecom’s “Eco-friendly” platform has been used to achieve the first batch of 15 key water areas and key areas in Jingmen City to prevent and control pollution. Full-time and round-the-clock monitoring has played an important role in alleviating the conflict between the city’s heavy environmental monitoring tasks and the lack of law enforcement personnel and reducing the cost of supervision and enforcement. According to the person in charge of the Jingmen Environmental Protection Bureau, “The company has previously lacked the necessary scientific and technological support to obtain evidence, and it is difficult to collect evidence. Since Jingmen Telecom provided a high-tech environmental protection monitoring system, the EPA will be able to grasp each of them in a timely and accurate manner. The discharge of pollutants from online companies can be monitored 24 hours a day for the total discharge of pollutants, thereby more effectively protecting water quality and the air environment."

Jingmen Telecom's successful case of assisting environmental information technology has been highly valued by the National Environmental Protection Inspection Team and the Hubei Environmental Protection Agency. Huang Xiaoming, Director of Informatization of the Provincial Environmental Protection Department, said at the forum that the development of Hubei's environmental protection industry urgently needs advanced information technology to enhance the environmental protection regulatory capacity and supervision level. It will actively promote the successful mode of China Telecom’s “environmental protection e-pass” in the province. The level of environmental protection information in the province has reached a new level.
