In recent years, the stone industry in Zigong has developed rapidly, and Zigong sandstone has a high reputation in the world. With incomplete statistics, the city has more than 100 stone processing enterprises and self-produced sandstone mining enterprises, with an annual output value of nearly 1 billion yuan, a profit and tax of 30 million yuan, and more than 3,000 employees. However, the stone enterprises in Zigong City are mostly workshop-style enterprises, with inadequate facilities and equipment, backward mining, processing and management, difficult pollution control and low economic benefits. In order to promote the healthy and rapid development of the stone industry in Zigong City, after more than a year of intense preparations, the Zigong City Stone Chamber of Commerce was registered and established in the Civil Affairs Bureau. At present, there are 41 unit members and 13 individual members.
After the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce, the census of stone enterprises will be carried out immediately, and the investigation of the company's operating conditions, the protection of employees' legitimate rights and interests, the management of “scatter, chaos, pollution†and the status of ecological environment protection will be conducted. At the same time, planning for future development, through investment promotion, the introduction of strategic partners, relying on the construction of the railway logistics park and the southwest dry port, is expected to invest 300 million yuan to build a standardization, modernization, garden-style integration of processing and trade. The scientific research and tourism-oriented Zigong Stone City will promote the transformation and upgrading of the city's stone industry and achieve sustainable development.
