1 : What is the role of SPD ?
Lightning strikes, high-power equipment start and stop, and electrostatic discharge will generate instantaneous overvoltage (surge), which is easy to cause equipment damage. The SPD is installed at the front end of the equipment to be protected. When a surge occurs, the SPD can quickly conduct, discharge the surge to the ground, and limit the voltage to a safe level, thereby protecting the back-end equipment.
2 : Is there any basis for SPD configuration? What are the standards?
Whether to install SPD is generally considered from two aspects.
One is the probability of equipment being invaded by power surges
Such as the number of local thunderstorm days, the environment where the system is located, and the installation location of the equipment.
The second is the importance of equipment
Such as the value of the device itself, the security requirements of the system, the importance of the device in the system control, etc.
